Meadow is Shipping!
That’s right, we’ve started to ship Kickstarter rewards with v1.0 Meadow hardware! Meadow itself is still in beta, which gives us an opportunity to work together to shape the platform and stabilize the code base.
If you missed out on the Kickstarter project, don’t fret; we’re going to give you an opportunity to buy a Meadow dev kit very soon. We’ll have a few hundred available, and we’ll send out a notification via email before they go on sale publicly. One note of caution, however, we expect them to sell out within minutes. So if you want one, you’ll need to act quickly.
If you haven’t signed up for our newsletter yet, better do so quickly, that’s where we’ll notify folks, and head’s up: they’re going to go on sale soon.
Meadow has been a project of love and passion for us. And sometimes I look down at the Meadow board and am amazed at what we’ve built. Running full .Net apps on an embedded device has been a dream of mine ever since Scott Guthrie (co-creator of .Net) showed me an early beta of .Net almost 20 years ago.
No part of this project has been easy. But after three years of hacking, we finally have a working, productive piece of technology that will be transformative to our industry. I’m really proud of what the team has accomplished together and am proud of this team for relentlessly chugging forward on a dream, against all technical odds. In a storied 25+ year career in the tech industry, this is the hardest technical challenge I’ve ever taken on, and I’m really excited to be able to share it with you all.
