Announcing the C# IoT Contest with Hackster.io and Wilderness Labs!

Today, non-mobile connected devices outnumber mobile phones 4:1; in just a few years, connected things will outnumber mobile phones 10:1, with 75 billion connected devices predicted by 2025. Powered by microcontrollers and commodity hardware advancements, nearly all new products will be connected.

We’ve partnered with Hackster.io and are challenging you to jumpstart the hardware revolution by creating innovative IoT solutions using Netduino and the .NET Micro Framework!

Hackster.io – Learning Hardware Community

Real IoT is going to be built by real developers hacking away building things that we could never imagine. That’s where you come in. Join us in building the future, and you could win a cool hack kit including an oscilloscope, 3D printer, and coolest of all; early beta access to Meadow – Wilderness Labs’ successor to the Netduino platform which runs full .NET Standard apps on a microcontroller!

Netduino.Foundation and Xamarin

With Netduino.Foundation, we’ve created a platform that enables a plug and play development experience where you can create sophisticated hardware solutions using C#. Partner that with Xamarin, and you can create great mobile apps that talk to and control connected things and write these solutions, end to end, in .NET.

Got an Idea? Get a Netduino

Join the party and register for the Netduino: Connected Things Using C# and .NET contest today. To sweeten the deal, submit your project idea by July 1 for a chance to earn a FREE Netduino 3 WiFi or Netduino 3 Ethernet board.

How to enter:

  1. Create an Wilderness Labs account on wildernesslabs.co if you haven’t already.
  2. Go to the contest brief page and click the “Register as a participant” button on the top right column to enter.
  3. Submit your project idea by July 1, 2018 for a chance to win a free Netduino board for your project (optional).
  4. Design, build, and submit your project by July 31, 2018 by clicking the “Add my project” button.

Best overall project submission (1st place) author(s) will receive a hardware prototyping hack kit which includes a 3D printer, oscilloscope, and more. In addition, the 1st place winner along with up to ten honorable submission authors, will receive early beta access to Meadow, Wilderness Labs’ vNext hardware platform which brings full .NET Standard to a microcontroller, plus a hand-crafted secret care package from our Wilderness Labs CEO and co-founder, Bryan Costanich!

We cannot wait to see what you bring to the table! See rules and join the discussion to collaborate with other participants to improve your submission.
